Sweet Sweet Rose
She was special. That’s what they said. But so sad a life, Was the life that she led. So much to give So much was taken She thought it was love, But Rose was mistaken. Her soft, velvet heart, Blooming just yesterday, Sings now a sad song, “How can it be this way?” What’s left of her Is in tiny pieces. Shredded, they blow, Floating on breezes. No one would bend To help her up. When she was thirsty, Not one filled her cup. Would anyone visit Or clothe Rose’s needs? Did we Christians Prove Him through our deeds? No. She is alone… A single red Rose. Oh, woe is the one Who leaves her lying Too busy to want The Rose that is dying.

In Starlight
To search for answers in the sky To gaze the stars and wonder why As if my soul could climb, could fly Up to the clouds above. To ask and wait so answer-less To wade about in earthly mess Where all I seek is Heaven's rest And heavenly, to love. To lie in wait beneath the sun From day that starts to day that's done To feel alone- the only one Is something I could prove. So find me where I rest so long And sing to me of Heaven's song Beneath this sky I sense no wrong 'Neath stars that blink and move. ©2006-2007 ~LaBruyere
Flight of Destiny Years of change Days in the dark You finally break through A beautiful sight You are a beautiful creation You spread your wings for the first time Only to learn that you can fly... You are God's blessing Yet you hide You have a precious gift Yet you are alone You have an entrancing personality Yet you change it countless times You have wings... So Fly Like A Lamb Slain With all the pain He had nothing to gain Yet he held everything at a loss And was nailed to a cross Because of our sin he was slain Grace How can we trace God's wonderful grace The scars on his hands With majestic power, he stands A smile upon his face, shown with grace
Stars The stars are pure and bright, Gleaming diamonds of light, That shine clear through the night. I gaze upon a star And feel God is not far. The darkness leaves no scar. Sparkling glimmering jewels, With no limits or rules, Big bangs were made for fools. Stars twinkle in the sky, Then we see with a sigh, Dawn opening her eye.
Oh dear God help me Help me carry on And to be strong When everyone is tellin' me To be someone I don't want to be Oh Jesus, you were there holdin' my hand And you were there pullin' me out of the sinkin' sand. I would have lost my way If you weren't there to say "Trust me, oh my child I'll help you down this wild road." Thank you, oh my Lord For giving me your word I now trust in you, 'Cause you pulled me through.
